ReplyDeleteResearch (1.1) ‘D’ Excellent research that details and explains the characteristics of film noir, including example photographs. Each image has been narrated and annotated, with detailed explanations of how you would recreate it and what prop and lighting might be used. Some of the highest standard of research in the class, well done.
Proposal (1.2) ‘D’ Excellent proposal that explains in detail how you have used your research and photography skills to generate some really imaginative and creative ideas for your final Film Noir photography. You have explained how you will create the lighting to replicate your favorite research images and what camera settings you will experiment with to create the look you want.
Memory checks ‘D’ (2.1 & 3.1) You have included all of the class memory checks which have demonstrated an extensive understanding of camera and lighting techniques and skills via your weekly Memory Checks and final evaluation.
Test shots (3.1) ‘D’ You have produced some good contact sheets which clearly show a range of test shots for each of your photoshoots. These show good framing and composition skills. You have made a reference to how you could become better at focusing the camera in order to stop the images becoming blurry. I would say that the blurry images were due to a slow shutter speed and NOT incorrect focusing. Your contact sheets do not contain any reference to the camera settings used, which is essential information for future assignments. Its hard to tell you how to improve your photography without knowing what settings you used. Include these details on your contact sheet blog to increase your grade to a distinction.
Evaluation, final four photographs, poster and DVD cover ‘D’ (3.2) Your evaluation is detailed and concise and clearly outlines your progression through this assignment, you clearly outline the problems you faced and how you overcame them. Both your poster and DVD cover are excellent, I especially like the shot of your dad at night, casting a shadow down the street, its well thought out and imaginative photography? Well don, keep it up.
